This Yorkie just recently gave
birth to 3 puppies. Because of this, she is considered to be a K-Strategist.
K-Strategist are species that live in a stable environment, tend to have few
offspring, and care for their offspring for a good portion of their lives. The
puppies of this Yorkie are predicted to have a longer lifespan than say a
turtle (an example of the opposite—and R-Strategist) because she offers
assistance to her puppies for as long as they need whereas a turtle does not
nurture its offspring.
