The
following picture is of a snail found on the side of my house. Most snails are
examples of hermaphrodites, meaning that they have both the male and female
sex organs and gametes inside of each of them. This is helpful because it means
that if the snail is able to find any other snail to reproduce with sexually.
If the snail is unable to find another snail, it will reproduce asexually.
